1. Before you use this medicine

  • An allergy to any of the ingredients listed in section 3.

APregnant or breastfeeding…

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine if you are pregnant, might be pregnant or are breastfeeding. Simple Linctus Paediatric should not be used in pregnancy unless the doctor has told you to do so.


Almportant ingredient information

This medicine contains:

  • 4.4g of sucrose per 5ml dose. To be taken into account in people with diabetes mellitus. If you have been told by your doctor that your child has an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before giving this medicine.
  • 2.5mg sodium benzoate per 5ml dose.
  • less than 1 mmol sodium (23mg) per 5ml dose, that is to say essentially ‘sodium-free’.

2. possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Hypersensitivi­ty/allergic reactions are possible with this product (frequency unknown).

If taken excessively above the stated dose, glycerol present in the medicine may cause headache, stomach upset and diarrhoea.

If you notice any side effects, stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist. They will tell you what to do.

Alt you accidentally give too much see a doctor straight away. Take the pack with you to show which medicine your child has swallowed.

  • Do not use after the expiry date. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
  • Return any unused medicine to the pharmacy for disposal.
