Please read all of this leaflet carefully before giving this medicine, it contains important information.

Please keep this leaflet; you might need to read it again.

Nelsons Sootha Cough Syrup is a homeopathic medicinal product used within the homeopathic tradition for the symptomatic relief of dry or chesty coughs.

2. Before giving this medicine

  • Do not take this medicine if allergic to any of the ingredients
  • Do not give this medicine to children under 12 years old
  • Do not take this medicine if pregnant or breastfeeding

Important information about some of the ingredients

This medicine contains sorbitol and honey (see section 6). This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this product. May be harmful to the teeth.

This medicine contains methylparahydro­xybenzoate (E 218) which may cause allergic reactions.

Taking other medicines

Tell your doctor before taking this medicine if taking any other medicines including any bought without a prescription.

If you are not sure if this medicine is suitable, consult a doctor or pharmacist.

3. how to use this medicine

For oral use

Adults, the elderly and children aged 12 years and over Directions

  • Shake the bottle well before use
  • One 5ml spoonful 3 times a day.

(It is recommended that the last dose be taken at night when the cough may be more troublesome).

Consult a doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner if

  • symptoms worsen
  • difficulty breathing or a high temperature occurs
  • sputum is yellow or green
  • symptoms do not improve after 7 days

Do not take more medicine than the label/leaflet tell you to.

If you forget to take this medicine or give this medicine to the child , continue with the usual dose at the usual time. It does not matter if you have missed a dose.

Do not give a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you or a child has taken too much of this medicine, speak to a doctor or pharmacist and take this leaflet with you.

4. possible side effects

This medicine is not expected to cause any side effects. However, consult a doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner if the symptoms worsen or persist for more than 7 days or if any side effects occur.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. You can also report side effects directly via the yellow card scheme at. By reporting side effects you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.

5. how to store this medicine

  • Keep all medicines out of reach and sight of children.
  • Do not store above 25°C. Store in the original packaging.
  • Do not refrigerate.
  • Do not use after expiry date shown on carton and bottle.
  • Return any unused medicine to your pharmacist for safe disposal.

Each ml of syrup contains: Bryonia 6c

Also contains

Honey, Sorbitol, Purified water, Lemon juice, Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218).

Each 5ml dose contains 3.73g honey.
